How these two meet

Taurus and Gemini: the one who settles meets the one who got curious.

What Taurus keeps, Gemini has already handed on to somebody else by Thursday.

Neither of you has ever wanted to discuss what that costs the other one.

It works, and visibly. Gemini brings the world into a house that would otherwise stop having weather, and Taurus gives Gemini a place that does not change while they are out in it.

The word you disagree about is constancy. Venus proves it by not moving.

Mercury cannot prove anything by not moving, because for air stillness is not devotion, it is just stillness.

So Taurus stays and waits to be recognised for it, and Gemini, who genuinely values it, does not think to say so, because from outside it does not look like an effort. The staying accumulates unacknowledged and turns, slowly, into a grievance with no incident attached to it.

Which of you has been working at something the other one cannot see?

For Gemini, the work is naming the staying as the work it is. It costs Taurus something to hold the ground while you move, and it has never once been mentioned.

For Taurus, the work is saying that you want it said. The silence is not Gemini failing to notice. It is Gemini not knowing there was anything to notice.

Venus keeps the ground and Mercury goes to see what is on it. Neither job is the easy one.

How long have you been holding something up without saying that it is heavy?

30 degrees apart

Thirty degrees apart, side by side on the wheel, and not a classical aspect at all. The five Ptolemy kept are the conjunction, the sextile, the square, the trine and the opposition, and the semi-sextile is not among them. Neighbouring signs share nothing: not the element, not the modality, not the polarity. That is the geometry underneath a friction that can go years without a name. There is no angle here to have the argument about.

The two rulers

These two signs are ruled by Mercury and by Venus, the two bodies that go round the Sun inside our own orbit. Both are tied to it, Mercury within 27.8 degrees and Venus within 47.3, so the furthest they can ever be from each other is 73.8. That is a fifth of the wheel, measured over two thousand years. These two rulers can never be opposite, never square, never even trine. Whatever happens between them happens close up.

A sign is still a general lens: it says nothing about where your Moon or your Venus actually fell. A synastry report reads your two real birth charts against each other, with the aspects that are genuinely there.
