How these two meet
The first year is the one where you each discover that the other does not need reassuring, and you both mistake the relief for compatibility.
It is compatibility. It is also the last time either of you is asked how you are and answers accurately, because from there on you both know the answer is not required, and neither of you volunteers what is not required.
Mars runs 2.13 years between reversals and does not signal the turn. Saturn spends 36.4 per cent of its time apparently going backwards and arrives in the same place regardless. Neither body announces anything and neither changes course for new information.
Between a fixed sign and a cardinal one there is no mutable modality, and mutable is the one that adjusts to whatever is actually in front of it. So a bad year does not produce a change of approach in this house. It produces two people doing the same thing harder.
