How these two meet
Leo and Capricorn: the email, the congratulations, and four degrees of temperature.
The email says the thing has been won and Leo reads it out at the table. Capricorn says congratulations, means it entirely, and then asks what the terms are, and the temperature in the room drops four degrees in the time it takes to ask.
Neither of you can explain what just happened. Leo cannot say that the question arrived before the moment did. Capricorn cannot say that checking the terms is how Capricorn celebrates, and has been since the age of nine.
The Sun never turns back and never goes retrograde, one of only two bodies on the wheel that does not. Saturn spends 36.4 per cent of its time apparently going backwards and takes 29.43 years to cross the twelve signs. One of you arrives fully in the moment because there is no other mode available. The other has already priced the year.
And the two who are not at the table: Leo’s opposite is Aquarius, who would have given Leo a principle worth being the centre of and never once made it personal, and Capricorn is what comes just before Aquarius, with the structure and none of the impersonality. Capricorn’s opposite is Cancer, who would have kept what Capricorn built without being asked and without it being an occasion, and Leo is what comes just after Cancer, and makes it an occasion.
Is either of you still doing the translation?
For Leo, the work is hearing the terms question as the congratulations. It is the same sentence.
For Capricorn, the work is leaving thirty seconds between the congratulations and the terms. Thirty seconds.
The Sun does not turn back and Saturn is going backwards more than a third of the time, and there is no element, modality or polarity between you to explain either one to the other.
Everything the two of you have agreed on was arrived at twice, separately, in two languages.
So how much of the last decade has each of you spent translating, and which of you thinks they have been doing more of it?
150 degrees apart
A hundred and fifty degrees apart, and like the semi-sextile it is not one of the five aspects Ptolemy kept. Signs five along share nothing: not the element, not the modality, not the polarity. The semi-sextile comes up as empty-handed, but its two signs at least touch. These two are most of the way across the wheel from each other with no common ground at any point along it, which is why the terms keep having to be invented as you go.

A sign is still a general lens: it says nothing about where your Moon or your Venus actually fell. A synastry report reads your two real birth charts against each other, with the aspects that are genuinely there.
