How these two meet
Leo and Pisces: somewhere in the first year Leo stopped, and neither of you noticed the stopping.
Pisces minds. Occasionally, for about an hour, and then the minding dissolves, because Pisces has no equipment for holding a grievance in the shape it arrived in, and everybody who has ever watched has taken that for not minding.
From outside it reads as Leo taking up all the room and Pisces not objecting, and that is not what is happening in here.
Leo is not taking anything. The Sun does not take a room, it is the thing a room arranges itself around, and it never turns back, one of only two bodies here that never goes retrograde. Jupiter needs 11.85 years for the twelve signs and revises for a third of them, so Pisces is genuinely still deciding what happened last April.
The two who are not here: Leo’s opposite is Aquarius, who stands one step back from the whole proceeding and would have given Leo something impersonal to be the centre of, and Pisces is what comes just after Aquarius, with the same distance from the self and none of the detachment. Pisces’ opposite is Virgo, who notices precisely and says so, and Leo is what comes just before Virgo, and notices generously and says it louder.
And what has actually been going on, which needed ten years and an outside opinion to see: Leo has never once performed for Pisces. Not in the way Leo performs, which is not a fault and is how Leo loves. Somewhere in the first year Leo stopped, neither of you noticed the stopping, and it has not come back.
What did you each give up in order to be understood here?
For Leo, the work is noticing that you stopped, and asking whether Pisces would like the other version sometimes.
For Pisces, the work is keeping one grievance in its original shape for a whole day and then handing it over intact.
And a third: neither of you decided any of this. It happened, and then it was the arrangement, and an arrangement nobody chose can still be renegotiated.
The Sun never goes backwards and Jupiter is going backwards a third of the time, and one of those is easier to be married to than the other, and it is not the one either of you would guess.
Neither of you is going to agree with that sentence, and both of you will know which one it means.
150 degrees apart
A hundred and fifty degrees apart, and like the semi-sextile it is not one of the five aspects Ptolemy kept. Signs five along share nothing: not the element, not the modality, not the polarity. The semi-sextile comes up as empty-handed, but its two signs at least touch. These two are most of the way across the wheel from each other with no common ground at any point along it, which is why the terms keep having to be invented as you go.
