How these two meet

Virgo and Libra: the one who perfects the thing meets the one who noticed the person.

Virgo raises the thing and Libra feels the temperature drop. Libra keeps the thing back and Virgo, who can always tell, experiences being managed by someone who has decided they cannot handle honesty.

Mercury wants it right and Venus wants it pleasant, and most evenings those are the same wish arriving in two different tones. The whole distance is between getting it right and getting it right with somebody.

What you do when something is wrong is where it separates. Mercury states it, accurately and promptly, because an unstated problem is an unsolved one. Venus weighs whether stating it will cost more than the problem does.

Neither of you is reading the other correctly. Virgo is not being harsh and Libra is not being evasive: you are each protecting a different thing, and both things are worth protecting. What holds it together is that Libra keeps Virgo from disappearing into the task, and Virgo hands Libra something rare, which is a person who will simply handle the practical rather than negotiate about it.

Which costs more here, the saying or the not saying?

For Virgo, the work is saying the correction with the relationship in it. Not softer. Warmer. Same content, plus one sentence making clear the person is not the problem.

For Libra, the work is raising one thing in the first week rather than the sixth month. The cost you are calculating is real, and it compounds while you are calculating it.

Mercury fixes the thing and Venus protects the two of you. Neither has ever thought the other was being careless.

You have been solving the same problem from two ends, and mostly arriving.

30 degrees apart

Thirty degrees apart, side by side on the wheel, and not a classical aspect at all. The five Ptolemy kept are the conjunction, the sextile, the square, the trine and the opposition, and the semi-sextile is not among them. Neighbouring signs share nothing: not the element, not the modality, not the polarity. That is the geometry underneath a friction that can go years without a name. There is no angle here to have the argument about.

The two rulers

These two signs are ruled by Mercury and by Venus, the two bodies that go round the Sun inside our own orbit. Both are tied to it, Mercury within 27.8 degrees and Venus within 47.3, so the furthest they can ever be from each other is 73.8. That is a fifth of the wheel, measured over two thousand years. These two rulers can never be opposite, never square, never even trine. Whatever happens between them happens close up.

A sign is still a general lens: it says nothing about where your Moon or your Venus actually fell. A synastry report reads your two real birth charts against each other, with the aspects that are genuinely there.
