How these two meet
Nothing in this house is finished, and the word for that is not chaos, it is maintenance.
You both notice, you both improve, and the improving is not competitive, it is what a noticing does when it has hands. What neither of you has is anybody to say that the thing was already good.
Mercury is on a short leash, never more than 27.8 degrees from the Sun, and turns back three times a year to recross ground it has already crossed. Two of those means the same ground crossed six times a year, by two people, separately, without conferring.
So the standard rises quietly, and neither of you set it and neither of you can lower it. The function of saying that a thing is fine is unstaffed here, and neither of you has noticed the vacancy.
For one of you, the work is saying out loud that something is finished, and then not touching it.
For the other, the work is believing them.
The question
How much of this house is already correct?
One conscious action
one thing, declared finished
Each of you name one thing in the house that is done. Not perfect. Done.
Neither of you may improve either of the two named things for a month. Write the date down, because you will both forget it on purpose.
Mercury recrosses its own ground three times a year and there are two of them here, which is six passes over the same floor and no other body anywhere to call it done.
So who in this house is allowed to say that something is finished, and when did either of you last hear it said?
