How these two meet
Two people who both move before the sentence has finished, and the first year is the fastest either of you has lived.
It goes wrong the first time something needed not to be decided that afternoon. Not because either of you was reckless, but because there was nobody in the room whose job it was to say wait. Neither of you has ever held that job and neither of you knew it was one.
Mars runs 2.13 years between reversals, the longest gap of any planet, and gives no signal before the turn. Two of those in one house means two total commitments running at once and no mechanism anywhere for revising either.
And here is what goes unremarked, because unremarked is what happens when both people do it: nobody in this house has ever asked the other one to explain the hurry. There is no witness to it. Two of the same sign means the one thing you both do is the one thing neither of you can see.
The work is the same for both of you and that is the difficulty: one of you has to be the one who says not today, knowing the other will take it as a betrayal of the whole arrangement.
And the second half of it: whoever says it does not then get to apologise for having said it.
